Celebrating Our 15th Season|
Unforgettable Big Band turns 15 in 2015, and we are bringing the swing like never before. Based in York, Pennsylvania, Unforgettable has become one of the region's best known and most liked bands, performing the great music of the swing era through modern day favorites.
Unforgettable covers many of the great and
lasting songs of the swing era, including arrangements by Glenn Miller,
Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Duke
Ellington, Count Basie, and more. Our performances also feature works of more contemporary big band arrangers such as Gordon Goodwin, and we don't hesitate to step outside the box to perform songs made famous by modern artists like Queen or Carlos Santana. We also have an assortment of
outstanding big band arrangements of gospel standards that are suitable
for a worship service, or a performance.
Unforgettable is a community service oriented group of musicians. It is our desire to give back to the generations that have paved the way before us.
The band is available for parties, receptions, special events and corporate functions, in addition to traditional dance and concert engagements. We endeavor to accommodate worthy fund raising efforts, as well.
Currently organized as a non-profit corporation, Unforgettable Big Band is dedicated to continuing the American big band tradition.
Fifteenth Anniversary Kickoff Party|
Unforgettable Big Band is turning 15 years old, and we are throwing a party. Join us on April 3 for an evening of fun and dancing at the York Elks Lodge #213 in downtown York, PA. It's a First Friday in York, and there will be lots of fun things to do, as downtown merchants will have special late hours, and the town will be buzzing. Doors open at the Elks Lodge at 5:00, and a full food and beverage menu will be available. The band starts swingin' at 7:30.
We will also be celebrating the 91st birthday of legendary Hollywood icon Doris Day, who was discovered by Pennsylvania bandleader Les Brown of the Band of Renown. Doris scored several hits as vocalist with the band, including Les Brown's all time chart-topper Sentimental Journey, before finding her place among Hollywood's all time greats.
As a part of the celebration, we will be releasing for digital download our recording of (Brighten Up Your Day With A Little) Doris Day, a tribute written and arranged by Unforgettable Big Band vocalist Tonia Grubb and assistant director Lindy Mack. It's a celebration, it's a party, it's going to be Unforgettable, and you are invited!
| 2015 Season Features Excitement|
Unforgettable Big Band is kicking off our fifteenth season of bringing great music from yesterday and today to York County and the surrounding region, and we've got some exciting performances lined up already.|
We will open the season on April 3 at the York Elks Lodge with a release party, birthday celebration and dance, featuring an original song by Unforgettable vocalist Tonia Grubb, paying tribute to Doris Day, who turns 91 on that day. The song, (Brighten Up Your Day With A Little) Doris Day, will also be included on Unforgettable's upcoming 15th anniversary CD, Fifteen 4 Fifteen.
We'll be returning to Lake Meade on April 11 for the annual Spring Fundraising Dance, and in May, we'll be performing in Harrisburg for the annual reunion of the Scottish Rite Valley of Harrisburg. Also in May, the new Memorial Day weekend tradition, the Big Band Brunch, returns for its second year.
Several other exciting programs are on tap, winding down in December with a special Sinatra Centennial tribute to Frank Sinatra, the man and his music, on December 12. Watch our website or our facebook page for all the details as we swing through our 15th anniversary season.

Band spirit alive and to bring my world wide audience a fresh approach
to Big Band music. Through Facebook, I was able to find an act that has
